HOW YOU AND YOUR CHILDREN WILL WAIT IN LINE FOR FOOD

DON’T STOCK UP, THEY TELL US

I remember from my late 1950’s Boy Scout days a lesson given to us about how to gather enough firewood. The Scoutmaster informed us ‘junior high’ school types, “Go gather what you think is enough, then gather that much again. Then you have enough.”

The same goes for food. We often hear from our overlords about food chain disruption. The current issues afflicting the Ukrainian grain supply add more fodder for this rhetoric. But when we examine the current issues afflicting our own country’s food supply, we often find federal malfeasance leading to future shortages of a critical nature. Read the following, and decide for yourselves whether or not to stock up.

BABY FORMULA FOR ILLEGALS?

The current baby formula crisis is only part of a larger picture.

I advanced several questions concerning the baby formula shortage last month. Reports of illegal aliens having an adequate supply at the border were too much to bear. Those questions remain unanswered. Please read and share:

1) Was there prior complaint about any shortage at the Border?

2) If our women in certain parts cannot find any, where did the Border supplies come from? From within the country? If the answer is ‘yes’, the public needs to know their origin.

3) And when did they at the Border receive their supplies?

The answers to the above may call for an investigation.

CHINA BUYING OUR FOOD PRODUCERS AND FARMLAND IN BULK

China’s role in buying up U.S. land and business conglomerates is revealed in this Town Hall article published last January: https://townhall.com/columnists/marthaboneta/2022/01/13/beware-china-is-gobbling-up-american-farmland-n2601760

The article cites politico.com’s claim that “The U.S. Department of Agriculture says China now holds nearly half the global reserves of corn and other major gains.” Buying pork from Smithfield Foods? China’s WH Group bought them out for $4.7 billion USD in 2013. Examining the labels on the ‘wild caught’ fish I buy, I find that even that fish caught in Alaskan waters was packed in China. Why? Are we so utterly incapable of packaging our own food that the Chinese must accomplish that for us?

The litany of purchases is easily searchable. But the endgame is obvious when another country with a native land mass greater than our own seeks control over what we eat.

BILL GATES BUYING UP OUR FARMLAND IN BULK

The beloved Diamond and Silk duo reported via Twitter that Bill Gates in under investigation by the North Dakota attorney general as he purchases 242,000 acres of farmland in Pembina County. Bates made the purchase through a trust that he controls. That set off the investigation. Gates could face fines up to $100,000 if found guilty of violating North Dakota law concerning land purchases by trusts. The link is here:

$100,000 to Bill Gates is no more than a buck or two to us peasants. It is the substance of the law on the books that will protect us, if at all. Gates’ lawyers will of course be ‘out in force’, as their six and seven figure careers are dependent on such infractions.

But the observation of Gates’ activity screams of control of what that land will produce, and who will control it. The New York Post of July 9 takes note that Gates is the largest private landowner in the US holding nearly half a million acres at present: https://nypost.com/2021/02/27/why-bill-gates-is-now-the-us-biggest-farmland-owner/

We ask again, Why?

FEDERAL CONFISCATION OF OUR FOOD

Perhaps a decade or more ago I first learned of the federal governmental powers to confiscate the produce of small farmers and even gardeners with larger plots. Yes, federal agents may intrude upon your property with intent to seize your very sustenance. This article from the Modern Survival Blog summarizes the injustices with a spotlight on the difficulties that result. Scroll down and the text of the laws as written are below them:

Our constitutional republic is without a civilization. One consequence is the federal government’s presumptive carte blanche power to declare most anything an emergency. These laws violate at minimum the Fourth and Fifth Amendments along with the spirit of a few others. And the Commandment against stealing? There seems to be no regard for such ancient notions as relevant to contemporary authoritarianism.

THE SUM?

The Scoutmaster’s wisdom remains with me today. Gather what you think will be ‘enough’ for the times ahead. These may prove difficult for us. Keeping a supply for several months of non-perishables is not at all ‘hoarding’ and may get us by for a little while. And remember the poor through local food banks if you are able (Psalm 41:1, 112, Proverbs 19:17 and many others). So ignore the federal pronouncements that tell you not to keep adequate sustenance on hand. For we do not know what is to come.
