WOMEN’S CENTER OF NW INDIANA
ANNUAL WALK FOR LIFE EVENT
[MATCHING FUNDS PROPOSAL]
On Saturday, September 18, 2021, the Women’s Center of Northwest Indiana will host their 33rd Annual Walk for Life at 4 different locations in NW Indiana. Complete information and registration/donation instructions are found at http://friendsofthewc.org/news-and-events under ‘EVENTS’.
The two-mile walk in Valparaiso will begin at 9:00 a.m. CDT on the Old Fairgrounds Park walking track, east side of Calumet Avenue between Evans Avenue and Mc Cord streets. Parking is accessible from either entrance.
The Rev. David L. Rogers (semi-retired) of Valparaiso is offering a ‘miniature matching fund’ of $250.00 to match $10.00 per walker for the first 25 who register and participate in the Valparaiso event. The funds come from a surprise refund sent to Veterans from the American Rescue Plan Act. The goal is to raise the total of at least $500.00 for the NWI Women’s Center as walkers raise contributions from friends and supporters. I have spoken with the Crown Point office about the project. The number is 219-663-5311.
When you register, you will find at the bottom of the form, “How did you hear about the walk?”
Simply type in “VALPO MATCHING” and the Center will know to notify me for the matching funds.
