THE PERSISTENCE OF UTTER DISREGARD
AP reports that lower echelon enlisted military are not able to feed their families? The Feeding America ministry claims that as many as 160,000 families of enlisted military have trouble with the most basic need of all, food:
The article cites a wife with several children who must go to a local YMCA-sponsored food pantry in order to feed the kids.
I remember that during the aftermath of the Bosnia-Herzegovina occupation, a military chaplain from our congregation contacted us to send monetary donations for food and specifically diapers for the babies (yes), among other family needs. This treatment, for our troops remaining to insure the peace there.
One need only to look for the pork in legislation passed and promoted by Congress in the past few months to evaluate what is truly important to our politicians.
Apparently caring for our military and the ongoing problem of providing adequate sustenance for those willing to give their lives for this country is not as crucial as providing $15,000,000 for gender studies in Pakistan as part of a COVID-19 bill.
Pathetic, no beyond pathetic…
MORE OF PUTTING JURIES ON TRIAL
So, Governor Evers of Wisconsin, you decided to call out the National Guard to prevent further rioting or protect against it in the event that the mobs do not get the verdict they have predetermined for the Rittenhouse trial.
But last August 23, your line was, “…we stand against excessive use of force and immediate escalation when engaging with Black Wisconsinites”.
Why now, Governor, but not then, as you and yours allowed mob violence and resulting property destruction to rage in the streets?
What is it that you are so eager to protect against this time? What verdict are you and yours expecting?
When the violence and destruction were evident and before you, you chose not to deploy the Guard, claiming that that would constitute “excessive force” directed at black people. But now that little if any violence is in sight, you call for military force sufficient to thwart repeat performances of August’s rioting in your streets. May you the reader judge for yourselves…
